Cabo Airport Transportation, Transfers and Shuttle Service

International flights into Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) go through immigration, bag claim, then customs. Terminal 2 handles most U.S. and Canadian arrivals. Terminal 1 is used for some domestic and overflow flights. After you clear, both terminals exit toward the same ground-transportation curb.

Budget 20 to 45 minutes from seatbelt sign-off to the curb on a normal day; longer when several wide-body aircraft land together. We track the SJD flight number, not a clock time, so a delay does not cancel your Cabo airport shuttle. If you arrive at T1, follow the group-exit signs to the same outdoor meeting area. Do not pay anyone inside the hall for a “free shuttle.”

The hall after customs at Los Cabos Airport is lined with people offering a “free ride” to your hotel. The ride is the hook for a timeshare presentation that can last hours. They are not airport staff and they are not your All Ways Cabo driver.

Keep walking. Do not stop to hear the pitch. Do not hand over your voucher or passport. Your Cabo airport shuttle is already paid (or set to pay the driver in cash USD). Taxi drivers outside are a separate issue: they are legal but unmetered. A pre-booked private Cabo transfer is the way to skip both the timeshare gauntlet and a curb negotiation.

Villa kitchens in Diamante, Pedregal, Puerto Los Cabos, and Cabo del Sol are easier if you shop before check-in. We add a grocery stop to the Cabo airport shuttle when you request it at booking. Common stops: Costco (San Jose / El Tezal area depending on route), Walmart, La Comer, and Fresko. Tell us the store; we will not invent a second stop unless you ask.

A grocery stop adds time and needs cargo space. A Suburban or Sprinter is the usual choice so bags and groceries are not stacked on laps. If you only need water and beer, skip the store — complimentary cold drinks are already on the arrival Cabo transfer.

Company booking rules ask you to say if you have extra luggage, golf clubs, boxes, or child seats so we assign the correct vehicle. There is no separate published surcharge list. The fix is a larger SUV or Sprinter, not a surprise fee at the curb.

A standard Suburban handles six passengers plus typical checked bags. Golf groups to Cabo del Sol, Palmilla, Querencia, Diamante, or Quivira should book a Suburban or Sprinter so clubs ride in back, not on seats. Surfboards and fishing rod cases need the same note on the reservation. If you are also doing a grocery stop, say so — cargo fills fast.

Child seats and boosters are complimentary when requested at booking. Give ages so the right seat is in the vehicle before it leaves for Los Cabos Airport.

These are the published rules from our Cabo transportation policies, not marketing language:

• • Cancellations must be made 72 hours in advance. After that, no refund.
• • Changes are allowed up to 5 hours before the service, per Baja California Sur transportation rules.
• • Last-minute changes are not guaranteed; they depend on vehicle availability. A change already made cannot be changed again.
• • Departure-flight pickup changes need at least 4 hours notice. Airline arrival delays are tracked automatically at no extra charge.

A tip is not required and is never added as a line item on All Ways Cabo Transportation invoices. Your quoted Cabo airport transportation rate is the rate. If you want to tip, cash USD to the driver at drop-off is the usual method. Travelers who tip typically leave 10 to 20 percent of that transfer. There is no company minimum and no penalty if you do not tip.

Flight-delay wait time is already covered. Do not tip extra “for the wait” unless you want to. If several drivers work a wedding or group move, tip each vehicle or give the coordinator one envelope and say how to split it.
